Coach Harp gill
Coach Harp Gill grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where he played high school basketball at Rick Hansen Secondary, winning two city championships (Grades 9 & 11). He continued his playing career at the University of Toronto Mississauga before transitioning into coaching, spending two seasons as a Junior Varsity head coach.
After relocating to British Columbia, Harp quickly made an impact on the youth basketball scene. He coached teams to multiple AAU championships against elite competition across Canada and the U.S., and most recently on the Adidas 3SGB circuit. In 2019, as an assistant coach with Lord Tweedsmuir, he helped guide the team to its first-ever Provincial Title—also Surrey’s first major championship in 40 years. The following season, they captured the 2020 RCMP Championship after a finalist finish the year prior, adding to a list of program achievements during his tenure.
In 2022, Harp led his U15 team to a perfect 11-0 season, capturing the BCBAA Gold Championship. Two years later, in 2024, he guided the Grandview Senior team to a 25-9 record, earning the school its first provincial ranking and a berth to the Provincial Tournament in just its third year of existence.
As a skills trainer, Coach Harp specializes in developing players through shooting, finishing, ball handling, passing, decision-making, and overall basketball IQ—blending his playing experience with years of successful coaching at multiple levels.
Coach Rowan Gilbert - Providence University
We’re excited to announce that Rowan Gilbert will be joining our coaching staff for the 2024 Spring/Summer season!
Rowan, a 2023 graduate of Grandview Heights Secondary, has been part of the BC Elite family since 2021 as a player. During his high school career, he served as team captain for two seasons (Grades 11 & 12) and had a standout senior year, averaging 27.8 points, 15.7 rebounds, and 5.3 steals per game.
Currently, Rowan is competing in his final year of university basketball at Providence University College in Manitoba. He’s excited to bring his playing experience, leadership, and passion for the game to the next generation of BC Elite athletes this summer.
